For more than a decade, chess-playing computers have been beating the world's grandmasters, while in recent years, the strategy game "go" has been a favourite for AI researchers. But IBM hopes its latest computer, dubbed Watson, will succeed in a different gaming setting – US television quiz show Jeopardy!.
